Ehsan Valizade is a CS graduate student working in the GVSU Mobile Applications and Services Lab as a graduate assistant.  He is currently doing his MS project in the area of smart watches.  In this talk he will be presenting the history and current state of smart watch technology from a developer’s perspective.  A significant proportion of the talk will focus on Apple Watch and what he has learned in recent weeks about this upcoming product.  Ehsan will also be giving us a live code demo of some of the things he has done with the WatchKit SDK in Xcode.

Jonathan Engelsma
Jonathan Engelsma leads the GVSU Mobile Applications and Services Lab. He is currently an Associate Professor in GVSU’s School of Computing. His research interests are in distributed and pervasive computing with a focus on mobile applications and services. Dr. Engelsma earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 1993. He has over two decades of industry experience, including 16 years in various research and development positions with Motorola.
